Comic-Con 2016

For costumers, future costumers, and those who simply enjoy watching on-stage costume shows, this overview of fan convention competitions will discuss their workings, their history, how they differ from one convention type to another, the judging process, and what it takes to win. Also included are tips on costume research, planning, fabrication methods, and stage presentations ideas for taking original and re-created designs from concept to stage-ready and have fun doing it! Panelists include Jennifer King (cosplay contest coordinator), Cheryll Del Rosario (award-winning Masquerade costumer and HCC cosplayer since 2003), Allan Lavigne (Bay Area fan costumer and superhero armor fabricator), John Ruff (San Diego Comic-Con/WonderCon Masquerade assistant coordinator), and moderator Martin Jaquish (San Diego Comic-Con/WonderCon Masquerade coordinator for the past 25 years).
